Contacto – Sociedade de Construções, S.A. was founded in 1989, at a time when the Sonae Group decided to acquire know-how in the area of Engineering and Construction as the result of its strong expansion and growth, setting up a civil construction and public works company for that purpose.

As the fruit of the Group's size and the various real estate developments built in the course of the 90s, Contacto's activity developed very quickly. After just a couple of years of existence, this enabled it to achieve a prominent position in the ranking of the best and biggest national construction companies.

Today, Contacto operates in the civil construction and public works sectors, basing its relations with its Clients on the principles of rigour and transparency and a management grounded in policies that guide its activity in terms of quality of the services provided, compliance with safety standards and respect for the environment
